Elon Musk: The price of greatness
A case reflection that our childhood dreams can be our reality
QUOTE
The future belong to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
Eleanor Roosevelt
My Random Thought
Today, let’s talk about Elon Musk, not primarily his success or wealth. But something deeper than that.
Here’s a man who’s living out the dreams we had as children—the fantasies we once believed in before life told us to be “realistic.” Now, as adults, many of us are just trying to survive, while Musk, unapologetically, chases the dreams others laugh at.
He doesn’t care. He is reshaping the way we think about the future, and taking on challenges most of us wouldn’t dare approach. He chose to press beyond what people told him was possible.
I’m not necessarily a fan of Elon Musk. Honestly, it doesn’t matter whether I like him or not. But I can’t deny his genius. He’s a rare individual. Yet, along with his brilliant feats comes a lot of darkness—nightmares and issues that most of us will never know. From a broken home to mental challenges, Musk has his share of trauma.
In a recent biography of Elon Musk by Walter Isaacson’s dives deep into this issues. It tells of a man who is as haunted as he is innovative. His behaviors, his psychology—it all seems intertwined with his success. And Issacson asks a profound question: “If you take away these challenges, will you still have the Elon Musk of today?”
Maybe the nightmares and the brilliance are two sides of the same coin. Maybe that’s the price of greatness. While we sit here, thinking and complaining about the limits of our present reality, he’s been investing in the future—not projecting from where he is now, but from where he dreams to be.
💡 Here’s the thing: tribulations, challenges, and persucution will come to all, who dares to dream. But the one certainty is the future would belongs to those who dare to act. Those who have the vision and the courage to create the future they desire and live a better place for others.
