Day 10: The Bible on Prosperity
To say the Bible contradicts prosperity as wealth or riches is a fallacy. The Bible in many and various texts establishes the need and relevance of prosperity and riches.
Verse:
Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.
Ecclesiastics 5:19
50DOR: The Bible on Prosperity
Day 10! As we are discussing riches, we have discussed the concept of wealth as true riches. Now going deeper to see the necessity of riches.
As a necessity in the last discussion, riches are by no means wrong, but it's our focus or definition that could cause us to err or deliver us to lust. The Bible in many and various texts establishes the need and relevance of prosperity and riches.
Without contradiction, across the gospel specifically in Luke 16, Jesus also made worthy note of it and the extreme chase of it. So, wealth by no means is a sin or makes one fall short of the kingdom agenda or never make it to heaven.
Rather, riches are tools, not a means to propagate the establishment of the Kingdom's authority here on earth. This wealth and prosperity are not just characterized by monetary possession or resources but characterized by it influence and authority that come with it.
From Solomon, the Minor Prophets (Hosea, Micah), even to Jesus, the Apostles, and the book of Philippians, we see the note-worthy establishment and influence of prosperity to bring and command peace, to ascertain authority and to spread various righteous causes.
🚀 To say the Bible contradicts prosperity as wealth or riches is a fallacy and an unsupported statement with no substantial evidence in it to back such a statement.
