Day 03: The Hunger for More
What do your heart yearn for, after all plans are executed, would there still be an hunger within you?
Verse:
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
Isaiah 55:1-2
50DOP: The Hunger For More
Day 3!!! Within each of us is a desire for more, a hunger for power. This desire is rooted deeply and sometimes hidden or confused with other desires or needs.
To begin, we are to note that this desire, thirst, or hunger is not necessarily bad or even bad at all, but it's the way we harness and interpret it that is most often the issue.
Stored within you is a potential energy yearning to be a kinetic force. This potential is the form of power that drives us into various forms of quests or adventures. But for many the quest, they embark on is to satisfy their basic/selfish needs without ever realizing the true drive or craving within them.
They convert a great force into a rather obsolete or irrelevant use case. According to Maslow's Hierarchy of needs, this is not bad, as this is the basic or primitive need of the living - SELF.
But beyond the satisfaction of self, we see the greatest need of the living only attainable by man - To live for others. A few rarely get there, why? Because it's only attainable in Christ. To discover (not create) what you are born for.
🚀 So, within us lies thirst and hunger for more, to become great, to become the best. This is not to be quenched, rather to be refined and directed towards the right channel.
