Day 02: The Origin of Power [50DOR]
By understanding, we would realize that power is a residue force within us to command exploits or greatness.
Verse:
So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]...
Genesis 1:27-28
Day 02: The Origin of Power
By definition, power is simply the ability to work. Then by specific translation according to our key verse (Rev. 5:12), it is Dunamis - Inherent power, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature or which a person or thing exerts and puts forth. (Thayer)
From the definitions above, we realize that within each one of us is power—the ability to perform or create a unique or specific task or work. This potential within us is a result of the creation mandate: Create man in our own image and likeness and let them have dominion.
Too many of us, take power as an abstract unseen force external to us, that comes as a feel or sense. But by definition and understanding, we realize that power is a residue force within us to command exploits or greatness.
And this is by no means is limited to the miraculous but also extends to the unique gifts or talent within us. In every one of us, there is a potential or ability to perform certain works according to God's nature in us, this also is POWER.
🚀 So, while the origin of power comes from God, it's also deposited within each man in different measures to carry out a certain purpose or calling in accordance to God's will or plan.
